American Reality
A friend of mine found a lonely voice on the Internet that had tones of humility that I haven’t seen in an American for a very long time. Here are his words as he begins to see the smoke clear in his world.
“America is the bastion of the mega-corporation. They live right here among us, making their global killing from their headquarters on our shores. So of course, we get to share their evil karma. Our corporate media keeps us in the dark about the price; the damage they cause around the world and here at home. It wasn't until recently - and probably with the help of the Internet - that many Americans even realized how 'owned' we really are. Corporate advertising on corporate media sing us all to sleep with patriotic songs intermixed with SUV's ("This is our country..." so buy this gas-guzzling truck;) portfolios, electronic toys and goodies made in China. God Bless America - and gimme that new logo t-shirt (made in India.) These monster banks and corporations - based in America - abuse the hell out of the world, other nations, and yes, their fellow Americans; and still we shop from them, we work for them, allow them to infiltrate our government and now they make our laws. They are the greediest of the greedy in America; the richest of the rich, and they would throw America, the planet - everything - to the dogs for an extra buck. But we enable them. We allow them to hide behind the word 'capitalism' and endow the word with all the glory of 'democracy'. What ever happened to the word 'greedy?'We bought into the capitalist dream (mistakenly believing it applied to all of us.) And perhaps, at one time, it did. No longer. Most Americans probably don't even know the difference between democracy and capitalism. Too bad, because by the time they find out, capitalism will have devoured democracy in America. There is a huge battle being waged right now, to rescue democracy from the hungry jaws of mega corporations. The average American is now as much a hostage to King Corp as the rest of the world - although most of us still don't know it. Sure, we are complicit in the damage to the earth and other nations, and yes even to ourselves. I guess we must look terribly spoiled and stupid to the rest of the world. But most Americans appear to only now be figuring this out - now that their jobs are going overseas. The corporations they thought were as American as the rest of us, sold out and packed up shop, and moved to where the labor was cheaper. So now Americans are waking up... when they finally lose something in the bargain.Not sure who dropped the ball in this country... the schools for not teaching the difference between democracy and capitalism.... or perhaps we were just hoodwinked by the corporate media and the lies of corporate advertising. Either way - suckers all.”
To our good American Friend;
It is Imperialism, which is the evil product of Capitalism, and not capitalism in its self that is to blame. The answer you are looking for is, and you have to bear with me on this one...America needs to put itself on trial for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The fact that the US is considered an untouchable along with Great Britain, China, Russia, & France at the UN is the reason. These 5 superpowers control the world and can veto a UN request for War Crimes. All 5 are now good money buddies.
If America can stick by the words of Chief Justice Jackson and General Dwight D. Eisenhower, then they will recoup what they have lost and regain the world’s confidence. It is the only way that the USA will regain its dignity, its face, and its trust among nations.
It is mentioned above that you do not know who dropped the ball. Well I can say this, that General Dwight D. Eisenhower gave a stern warning to the people of the United States about industrial militarism in 1961. It is the place to start looking, and to remember the opening lines of Justice Jackson's speech at Nuremberg while comparing what the Bush Administration did when it deceived the American Public and the World.
Put an American with great integrity and vision such as Justice Jackson against the Imperialist governing Industrial Government of the Bush Administration and the walls will come tumbling down. That is how you slay the demon. All records will then be open to public scrutiny.
However, Bush has let the evil genie out of the bottle because the US has also given license to any country in the world to wage war on others by declaring acts of terrorism...Russia has done it and more recently, Israel did it to Lebanon. It’s time to nip this one in the Budweiser before it takes the next drastic step. It can only be the American people that put its Government on Trial. Otherwise the world’s bully will just beat down those outsiders that charge it.
